Highfield Logger is a private application operated by Gordon Troy for the sole purpose of recording temperature and heating-system data at a single residence. It has one user: its operator. It is not offered to the public and has no other users.
Using Google's Smart Device Management API, and only with the operator's own explicit authorization, the application reads from Google Nest thermostats registered to the operator's own Google account:
It does not access cameras, doorbells, microphones, video, audio, images, or any other device type. It does not read contacts, calendar, mail, location history, or any other Google service.
Data is written to a database on a computer in the operator's own home. It is not transmitted to any third party, not uploaded to any hosted service, not sold, not shared, not used for advertising, and not used to train any model. No other person has access to it.
Records are kept for as long as the operator finds them useful for analysing the building's heating performance, and may be deleted at any time. Because the application has no users other than its operator, there are no third-party data subjects and no deletion requests to accommodate.
Authorization may be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately ends the application's ability to read any data.
